The energy performance certificate (DPE) is required since 1st November 2006 and must be attached to all real estate sales.

It includes :

  • the amount of energy consumed (over the last 3 years) or estimated for the property
  • the impact of this consumption on the environment
  • any technical recommendations

Unlike the lead or termites surveys, the buyer or renter cannot use it against the owner or landlord.
