he Public Health Code orders all owners selling a property built before 1st July 1997 to produce an asbestos survey report no later than at the signature of the undertaking to sell.
This regulation also applies to single-family homes.

The survey involves all private areas, floors, floor coverings, suspended ceilings, etc.

If the report shows the presence of asbestos, the seller is responsible for spreading the information but he/she is under no obligation to have renovations done. An agreement must be made between the 2 parties. If the buyer accepts to take the work on at his/her expense, he/she has 3 years to bring the property into line.
