Adding value to local heritage

The Fondation du Patrimoine supports all owners of unprotected property within the scope of historical monuments but representative in terms of heritage. It allows you to take advantage of tax deductions in case of work conducted to preserve or restore it.

To be eligible, you must obtain the Fondation du Patrimoine label and comply with certain obligations :

• work must be performed according to the methods and materials used for historical buildings
• work must be visible from a public thoroughfare (but the owner is not required to lead guided tours)
• work must be conducted within 5 years of obtaining the label

Complying with these obligations will allow you to deduct 50% of the amount of the work from your total taxable income.
